Golden Gate of the Ozarks Bridge and the train trestle

The council is in recess until September 10, 2007.  See you then.

Manager Sue Tinsley

There was a lot of activity at the Beaver RV Park last month and more planned for August.

JULY 4, 2007

Great day a total of 43 children came out to participate in the Mr. and Miss Beaver AR Contest lots of different personality. I was glad I wasn't having to judge this great group of children. I would like to thank all the guests that helped  me & Billy with this fun day of events and a special thanks to our judges LaDonna Padgett, Georgia "Peach" Holland, Cathy Shusta, and Dana Johnson.

Lots of guests in the park for the holidays fireworks was great and a special thanks to the family that shares them with us and to Smith Truer who joined in from the Castle.  Hopefully, we can repeat this in 2008.

Fireworks at the Park were awesome this year thanks to the campers and Smith Truer for the wonderful display.  Many people from Eureka Springs joined us and loved seeing the bridge all decorated for the holiday and said it put them in a very festive mood.

Paddle Fest 2 was quite a hit with all the campers and the locals who came out to hone their kyaking /canoeing skills and just have a fun time on the water.  We owe a big thanks to LaDonna and Bill Padgett, and their family who flipped pancakes for the campers on Saturday and Sunday.  THANKS YA'LL.

On August 9 through the 11th, the Tyler Jet Boat Club will be camping and jetting around the Bridge so bring your Jet Boat and join in the fun. Things will be winding down soon when school gets back in session and everyone starts to go home.  It's been a great year so far.

The gardens around town have bloomed their heads off this year thanks to all the rain we've had.  Now that we're in the "dog days of summer" ,though, we'll have to lend a hand and keep that hose out to give them all big drinks from time to time.  It's also time to do some weeding, cut the iris' back to their six inch fan shape and thin them. We'll be doing that to the ones at the Firehouse and if you'd like some free iris for your garden give me a call and I'll deliver them to your door.
